Stakeholders

  • OVE Denmark, KOEE are looking to isntall biogas facilities in schools (Raila, Olympic, Toi, Mashimoni). They want to undertake a baseline sanitation survey in the communities surrounding the schools. Interested to collaborate of survey format, sharing of data, and coordination of survey.
  • Maji Bora (Quality Water). Network of CBO water vendors. Connected to Nairobi Water & Sanitation.
  • Carolina for Kibera runs the Taka ni Pato clean up program (Cash for Trash)
  • Fednance Marimba had done research on water and sanitation infrastructure in Kibera
  • Fred Owegi, Kenyan Phd student, studying in Wagenigen, The Netherlands. His research is on the Economics of Sanitation in Kibera, collaborating with Kibera Community Youth Programme (KCYP). Basically exploring the econometric relationships between rents paid by Kibera's tenants and the variety of structures including their sanitation attributes, e.g. proximity to toilets and other infrastructure services.
  • George Onyiro is the UN Habitat Technical Advisor & Habitat Programme Manager - Kenya, Water Sanitation and Infrastructure Branch
  • Mark de Blois of Upande has done technical work on water networks in Nairobi
  • SODNET has looked at water issues as well.
