Outreach Flyers

Needed ASAP! : Volunteer_Outreach

(Tonee can help)

There are lots of recruitment posters in the OSM wiki http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Recruitment_Poster I think they are good examples of what the flyer could look like. If you have any creative shocks, please charge ahead!

Of course, our flyers need to talk about the specific details of Map Kibera, and the commitment Participants and Volunteers will make. Much of that text can be found on the wiki .. and we can work on that in detail once the initial layout of the flyer is done.

Participants From Kibera

12 teams, one from each village. consists of mapper, ambassador, and sometimes documenter

They may carry flyers describing project, and badges with official approval, info on project, id, etc.

Those completing the project will get Certificates of Achievement

Mappers

12 young people, 1 from each village. paired with community leader

  • technically able
  • community outreach ability
  • ethnically diverse
  • gender diverse
  • groups to help build shortlists .. sodnet/kcoda, fahamu, cfk, hotsun, pamoja fm
  • from interested people, we'll have a screening, possible on Wednesday October 4

Community Ambassador

Pamoja Trust (David and Irene) will organize and support, through Umande Trust and via their savings schemes collectors and networks, for 12 community representatives, nominated by community. They will aid mapper, and explain to community the project. They may only be working during the first week of mapping.

There are meetings weekly. We can attend and discuss the mapping program to gauge their reaction
